Hi Y’all, Jorge here.
This week has been quite the whirlwind, how about you? We’ve had a surge of guests recently, making things hectic yet exciting. I love hearing fun stories from our visitors.
Recently, a coworker of mine asked for tips on visiting Niseko, Hokkaido. Niseko is quite far from the airport and Sapporo City, which surprised me. But I was thrilled to share my favorite spots in the area and Sapporo.
When he returned, he shared his experience. He only stayed for a day, but enjoyed it immensely. As I predicted, Niseko didn’t feel very Japanese to him. He also explored Sapporo extensively.
One of my top recommendations was the Sapporo Beer Museum. It’s a bit touristy, but I loved it! If you book in advance, you can join a beer tasting tour where a guide walks you through the museum’s history, ending with a tasting session of different beer blends. If that’s not your thing, head to the dining hall for some local Jingisukan – a delicious grilled mutton dish.
Fancy an all-you-can-eat and drink deal? You’re in luck! For two hours, you can enjoy unlimited servings of eight different types of beer along with your Jingisukan. It’s a heaven for BBQ lovers and a bit of a dangerous indulgence!
My coworker also brought back chocolates from the Sapporo Beer Hall. Without me even mentioning it, he chose the exact chocolates I love. It was a nostalgic treat for me – I used to buy them every time I visited Hokkaido.
Have you been to Hokkaido? Where did you go? Did you visit the Sapporo Beer Halls and try Jingisukan with all that amazing beer? If you haven’t, I highly recommend it! Just make sure to call ahead or make a reservation, as it can get pretty busy depending on the season.
